Log In to VA.gov and Access Your Claim Information

Keeping track of your VA disability claim begins with accessing your VA.gov account. Below are the steps to ensure you can successfully log in and view your claim information.

Step 1: Log In to VA.gov

You can access your account through any of the VA’s approved identity providers:

Choose your preferred login option and follow the instructions to access your VA user account.

Step 2: Verify Your Identity (If Required)

If you haven’t logged in recently, VA.gov may request two-factor authentication. This can be completed using:

  • A text message with a code, sent to your phone.
  • A phone call.
  • An authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, etc.).

Completing this step keeps your account secure.

Step 3: Navigate to Your Claims

Once logged in:

  1. Go to the top menu.
  2. Select “Claim Status.”
  3. View your open, closed, or historical claims.

You can also access letters, claim timelines, and downloadable documents from this page.

Troubleshooting Login Issues

If you're unable to sign in:

  • Reset your Login.gov or ID.me password.
  • Verify your identity again.
  • Clear your browser cache.
  • Try using a different device.

If you still cannot access your account, contact VA.gov Support or your Identity Provider (Login.gov or ID.me) for assistance.
